Identity crisis?

Yep, it's been pretty quiet around here. If I'm being honest, I've been putting off getting back on here because I was unsure where to start. Life has gone through some big changes. I'm now a mother to a chubby and surprisingly big 7 month old boy. We have also thrown into the mix a golden retriever puppy. Nala is now 18 months old. She's definitely had some trying moments but it feels like things are finally starting to settle down. Though as I write this she's outside barking at possums!

While I know I'm not the first to mix puppies and babies, it does mean I now feel very tied to one place. Rupert and I definitely can't escape on bike adventures very easily any more. So where does this leave a blog that had been focused on travel and motorbike photos?  For a while, I wasn't sure..

After a lot of thinking, I began to realise that I have to embrace a different sort of excitement now. While it'll be a while before we go riding around East Timor again, there are still adventures to be had...and hopefully I can still get out on the bike a bit too.

In fact, we've just gotten back from a 2 month road trip to the Kimberly in Western Australia.  Sure it was in 'Shrek', our green land cruiser rather than a motorbike, but it was definitely still an adventure. The photo above is one of my favourite photos of the trip. Taken on my birthday as Remy prepares to go for his very first helicopter ride over Mitchell Falls.

More photos from this trip are on their way....I just need to find time to get through the rest of the memory cards.

I've also realised there's so much around me to take photos of, friends, family, pets, as well as local scenes. I just need to embrace the challenges that come with trying something different.

So that's what I've been doing.

This blog will continue to be all about the photos...stick around here over the next few weeks to see the best of my recent work.
